Welcome to our Super-Fab Blog site!
Welcome students! After our class brainstorm sessions Friday April 17th (thank you!!), I've meshed together student ideas as well as my own guidelines to put together a set of joint requirements for your upcoming Lit Relevance Blog Post.
There are two lists below: the first list includes your blog requirements; the second lists your weekly requirements. Be aware of what is expected of you.
There are two lists below: the first list includes your blog requirements; the second lists your weekly requirements. Be aware of what is expected of you.
Blog topic: "Animal Farm is relevant today because..." You must include (at least) THREE pieces of text evidence from the novella.
- Length: Blog will be 450-600 words (don't sweat it; this is like 1.5-2 pages double-spaced). Short and concise to hold the reader's attention.
- Images: Blog must have (at least) two (2) images that help to "show" the content of the blog (all images MUST be properly cited or linked to their ORIGINAL source). To avoid copyright issues you MUST cite sources.
- Links: Blogs must have (at least) two (2) embedded links to other websites that will give the reader additional information (Example: George Orwell was born in Bengal, India in 1903.)
- References: You have a choice here. Either, you will link your quoted or referenced content to the original source (see #3), OR you will create a "References" section at the bottom of your blog. To avoid copyright issues you MUST cite sources.
- Title: Your blog must contain a search engine friendly and eye catching title.
- Voice/tone: smart, casual, yet classy. Dress the WHOLE audience.
- Focus: Focus on a very specific topic in a compelling and engaging way.
- Spacing: Organize information into small, focused paragraphs separated by spaces.
Weebly Requirements (see the guidelines and rubric below!):
- Save your blog materials in google docs or in another safe, digital space. Though I have NO TOLERATION for anyone intentionally sabotaging another's work, there will be roughly 60 people editing this site. Keep your stuff safe!
- Under post requirements, add the category that corresponds with your class period (either "Period 4A" or "Period 7"). This ensures our blogs are organized by class.
- Publish online using your first name and last initial only.
